This annoys me. They've stood up for some good things, but they've done some terrible things too. They went and hacked a forum for people with epilepsy, and made it flash with bright colors. And people are like "LOL, ANONYMOUS IZ SHOWING TEH INTERNETZ HOOS BOSS!"

Way to root for the hackers, guys. As if illegal activity hasn't damaged this site at all.

Also, the only way to "take down" the internet, would be to annhiliate all providers like Cox and Verizon. The internet works by sending data to a website's server, and having it send back a webpage. That's going to be difficult to stop.

I'm still wondering about the scale of this attack. I also wonder if it was wise for the, to reveal a date for there attack, mainly because if they did find a large vulnerability, their giving a date merely gives Facebook the time to discover and patch it.

It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.

@Equinox- A country prepping for total-war could decide to deactivate the Internet for a period of time but, "total-war" was only declared back in WWs, obviously something like this would have serious backlash.

K, update. Now that I have Google+, and have beheld it's greatness, I now care 0% about Facebook. games- better, picture quality and viewer-better, circles-cool, faster etc, etc. ;D

Though if the attack is planned for
November 5 it wouldn't be a problem for me. So i'm getting a facebook till my 14 birthday.
But for other people who have a facebook I think it's an interesting topic since it counts as their privacy being invanded. [in my opinion]

A few days ago there was a story about Anonymous on the Wii News. It told about the Facebook plot. STOOPID ANON!!! (that does not include the person who saved Hatena from them... YOU ROCK!

Anonymous isnt going to shutdown facebook, "...why would we "kill" the messenger?". Those that are hacking like that are not true Anons, they simply associate themselves with Anonymous. The real Anons are the ones at #OccuptWallstreet that peacefully protest. Although some of the police get ansy and use force that is not needed. 100s of peaceful protesters get arrested a day because they write on the sidewalk in sidewalk chalk or because they want to know why that group of girls was sprayed with mace so they talk nicely to an officer. It seems to be the 99% hardworking american people that are getting arrested, but none of the 1% of the wealthy americans, that created this mess by paying for politicians to write bills that keep them safe while hurting the other 99%, are getting arrested for this behavior. This kind of system that we live in enrages me to no end. What does Washington do? NOTHING! They do nothing while the 1% are illegally forclosing homes and let go of 30,000 people with no pentions just so that they can save their sorry asses from the mess that they created. This has to stop! That is the true purpose of Anonymous, to free the people of the crooked politicians and the greedy 1%s' burdons. There are also side projects like #OpAsia and #OpPhoenix, but we are still on Phase 1 of The Plan. Oh, hell no! I have no idea where your getting your information, but since you said tl;dr I assume that you didn't spend an hour and a half learning about them and aren't one of them. I don't know much html, css, pearl, java, javascript, c++, assembly, binary, or any others you can think of so the odds of me being a hacker are 0, but i'm still part of Anonymous. I would also guess that you didn't go to the link I took the time of finding and making for you and others. I would advise you to shut up about this because obviously you don't know what you are talking about.
