"A scare tactic, mom? No, he IS planning something, I can feel in every bone of my body.. Something bad is going to happen, and I`m not about to leave you behind, not even for a weekend." Tears are welling up in her eyes, and she can act like she`s fine, but I can see it. I can see how terrified she really is, but she insists on not letting her feelings show.
"Sage." I can even look at her. "Sage, look at me. Now, Sage, I need you to look at me." Her voice is desperate, but I-I just can`t find it in me to look at her. "Sage, damn it! Look at me!" It takes all of my energy to even look in her direction, but I do as she says, and soon find myself looking straight into her eyes. "I will be fine, come on, you have to go now, your grandma`s waiting." she says.
"You don`t even care," I whisper. "He is going to do something bad, this could be a life or death situation. He could be planning to end your life, and for you to tell me it`s just a scare tactic.. is pethetic. How do I care about YOUR life, more than you do?" Silence. "Well if you don`t give a damn... Neither do I." I say hatefully. "But don`t say I didn`t warn you." I rip the note in half and throw it at her, then grab my bags and head upstairs to the hallway where my grandmother is waiting. "I`m ready." I say. My mother hurries up the stairs, but the door has already shut.
Little did they know their worst nightmare... Was still in their home.
