-Ghosts can appear as full body apparitions, vapors, mists, or balls of lights called "orbs" usually neon blue or violet in color.

-Ghosts favor nightime due to the decrease in daytime energy use.

-A hooded, black, smoky figure is a dark entity, & you should be careful around them. They usually appear at the foot of beds.

-Some hauntings are actually just "residue". 'Residue' is a past event that plays itself over & over again. Gettysburg is an example of a famous place that has shown countless examples of 'residue'

-Certain places can be portals or vortexes where ghosts can transport themselves.

-Hauntings are the most intense around children & preteens entering puberty because they are emitting an extreme amount of energy.

-Some Ghosts have been known to read your thoughts

-Ghosts retain all the memories & emotions of their lives.

-In some cases, a ghost is trapped, they need to be releases. Let them know they can move on.

-Some people call a noise, troublesome ghost a poltergeist (While others, like me, consider a poltergeist a mental projection from a person under great emotional stress).

-Ghosts are known to be very temperamental.

-If a ghost was a jerk when they were alive, then they'll be a jerk when they are a ghost.

-Some ghosts have been known to hang out in 'cliques' of other ghosts. Much like the cliques you see in your High School.

-Ghosts have been known to make friends with other ghosts from different eras.

-If you hear a strange whisper in your ear when you're sleeping, chances are it might be a ghost.

-Ghosts do not sleep.

-Ghosts like to climb up & down stairs at night.

-Most ghosts can't or won't hurt you. (note: that doesn't go for all, because many can & will if provoked.)

-Animals can see & sense ghosts, even when we humans can't. If you see your cat or dog staring intently at nothing, don't bypass the possibility that he or she could be staring at a ghost!

-If you are being haunted, you can simply ask them to leave, or to stop their antics, in a lot of situations, the ghost actually will.

-When a ghost enters a room, the area will suddenly get cold because of the lack of energy in the room. This is because when the ghost enters the room it draws all the energy in the room & takes it, that lack of energy produces a cold area.

-Ghosts of animals have been seen.

-Ghosts who lived hundreds of years ago have been known to keep up with the trends.

-Children usually perceive ghosts as imaginary friends.


DEFINITIONS:
GHOST:
A ghost is the spirit of a person caught between this plane of existence & the next. Intelligent beings, ghosts are often able to intercept & even communicate with the living.
HAUNTING:
A haunting is a recording of an event, or an event on the environment, they don't interact with the living.
POLTERGEIST:
Poltergeists are neither ghosts NOR hauntings. They are caused by the unconscious mind of the living person, usually under some type of stress.

Remember that it IS possible for a combination of these events can occur in 1 place. One event can effect, or even trigger another event. This is why a variety of such phenomena can be found at such 'hauntings'
